# Bevel account and templates

> The template library inside the editor, the Starter Sites catalogue, and what a Bevel account is for.

Every feature in Bevel Kit works without an account. A Bevel account, free to start, holds two things Bevel **runs** for you: [Bevel MCP](/mcp/overview)'s daily AI generations, and the pro part of the hosted template library. Nothing inside the plugin is switched on or off by it.

## The template library in the editor

The folder icon in any Elementor page opens the Kit's template library instead of Elementor's, with four tabs: **Blocks** (sections), **Pages**, **Header** and **Footer**. Templates are fetched from Bevel's public catalogue, inserted into the page with fresh element ids, and their images imported. The catalogue is cached for twelve hours; **Sync** refetches it. The `bevel/templates/api_url` filter points the library at another catalogue.

## Starter Sites

**Bevel → Starter Sites** browses complete sites on the Bevel server. Choosing one downloads a [site kit](/kit/tools#import-and-export) and runs the Kit's own importer, so a starter site is site settings, templates, pages, menus, fonts and media, all editable afterwards. The free set is usable without an account; premium sites need one. Nothing is fetched until the screen is opened.

## The Account tab

**Bevel → Site Settings → Account** connects the site to my.wpbevel.com. Until you press **Connect**, nothing reaches the network: no activation ping, no check on admin load. Once connected, the plugin sends the site's address, its version and the key you authorised, and re-checks the plan once a day. **Disconnect this site** ends that.

The tab shows the account, plan, sites in use, renewal date and last check. If a plan lapses, generation and the premium library pause; everything already built, and every feature in the plugin, stays as it is.
